Even better, you'll be close to everything else in the area, making this attraction convenient to visit.

About Gatlinburg's Mysterious Mansion

Gatlinburg's Mysterious Mansion has been in business since 1980, making it the oldest haunt in the Smoky Mountains. Fortunately, the mansion was fully renovated and updated in 2015, so you can count on remaining safe and comfortable while having the living daylights scared out of you.

Steeped in legend, it's rumored this house is haunted by a family of ghosts that died in 1903. While living, the family experienced a series of tragedies, with each member going insane and turning on each other until none lived.

The Mission

Your mission, should you accept, is to go on a self-guided tour through the three-story mansion and escape with your life. Every tour is self-guided and expected to take about 20 minutes to complete. However, you can go at your own pace.

To make things interesting, you and the others in your group will be challenged to escape each room in the house. During your tour, you'll face live characters that appear and disappear at will. In addition, shock tactics and other effects will take your fear to new heights.

Note: This attraction isn't recommended for anyone eight years old and younger as the scariness and slight gore may produce a negative experience for the children. In addition, there are multiple levels and no elevators, making this attraction not handicap accessible.

Maximize Your Scare

If you desire the scariest experience possible, you'll want to time your visit for October. Even better, the October weekends are the absolute most fear-inducing tours you can take. During the month, the intensity, gore, and scares are taken to new heights, ensuring your heart pumps the entire time while visiting one of the most scary places in Gatlinburg.

Discover secret passageways, get through dark corridors, and embrace your fear if you dare to challenge the oldest haunted attraction in Gatlinburg.
